This year's IPL is being held at a time when India's general elections are going to be held. In such a situation, the IPL authorities were forced to release the index.
Initially the index for the first two weeks was released. The BCCI, however, released the entire IPL schedule, the Indian Cricket Board said. They have not yet set the play-off and final schedule.
At the same time, all the fears were eliminated by the Indian Premier League. India's national election date has already been announced. Lok Sabha elections will begin on 11th April. The end will be 19 May. During the national election, there was a big question about the IPL game. Security was the biggest issue at that time.
However, after discussions with each franchise, it was decided to organize IPL matches in India. That is why during the Lok Sabha elections, they decided to take the game to India's soil and set the schedule. Although it was heard that a part of the IPL might be arranged in the UAE or any other country.
In that case, the city where the elections are held, the IPL matches were not held in that city. In the past, the IPL matches were organized in South Africa in 2009 due to the Lok Sabha elections.
"The entire tournament is being held in the Indian soil," the board statement said. In addition, each franchisee has the opportunity to play in their seven homemacht's own field. The whole tournament will be home-based.
Before the release of the Lok Sabha elections, the Indian board has indicated the IPL's first 17 matches till April 5. In these two weeks, six teams have played four and Delhi and Bangalore have played five matches, the BCCI said.
